Embracing Colour and Chaos: Stacey Solomon’s Pickle Cottage

As I step into Stacey Solomon’s Pickle Cottage, I’m immediately enveloped in a world of vibrant colours and eclectic charm. The TV presenter and author’s Essex home is a true reflection of her personality - bold, playful, and full of life.

Stacey’s Pickle Cottage, a haven of colour and creativity

Stacey’s love affair with colour is evident throughout the house, from the bright hues of her homeware range with George at Asda to the bold, mermaid-inspired bathroom. It’s a space that’s constantly evolving, with Stacey admitting she gets itchy feet when it comes to decorating. ‘I love change and a fresh new start,’ she says. ‘I’ve just started working with Dulux and get excited by all the new colours. It’s that instant transformation for very little money.’

Stacey’s kitchen, where family gatherings and cooking up a storm are the norm

The heart of the home is undoubtedly the kitchen, where Stacey loves to cook up a storm for her family. It’s a space that’s both functional and beautiful, with Stacey’s keen eye for design evident in every detail. ‘When I get home, I can’t wait to head to the kitchen and start cooking to feed my family,’ she says.

Stacey’s bedroom, a sanctuary of calm and tranquility

But Stacey’s bedroom is her true sanctuary, a space where she can escape the chaos of family life and unwind. ‘I try to make it as inviting as possible,’ she says. ‘I love going into my bedroom and getting into bed at night.’

Stacey’s garden, a haven of greenery and growth

And then, of course, there’s the garden - a space that Stacey dreams of one day turning into a thriving vegetable patch. ‘It would be my absolute dream to just get out there and make amazing flowerbeds and have a huge greenhouse,’ she says. For now, she’s content to tend to her small but burgeoning veg patch with her son Rex.

‘Growing your own is a bit like growing a baby: you plant the seeds, germinate in the greenhouse, transfer the seeds into the soil, wait for them to grow, and then harvest.’

As I leave Pickle Cottage, I’m left with a sense of wonder and awe at Stacey’s ability to create a space that’s both beautiful and functional. It’s a true reflection of her personality - bold, playful, and full of life.
