Pickle Ball Frenzy Hits Kalena Park
As the sun shone brightly over Kalena Park, the excitement was palpable. The first-ever Pickle Ball Tournament had finally arrived, and the enthusiasm was infectious. The event, which was part of the Fitness in the Park campaign, brought together pickle ball enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.

The tournament, which was open to all ages, featured a Mixed Doubles format with two divisions: 3.0 and 3.5-Plus. The competition was fierce, with 14 teams vying for top honors in the 3.0 Division and 10 teams battling it out in the 3.5-Plus Division.

In the end, Brandon Vallejos and Jenn Gali emerged victorious in the 3.0 Division, while Chad Koga and Jenn Grady took top honors in the 3.5-Plus Division. But the real winners were the participants themselves, who walked away with prizes donated by Get Fit Kaua’i, Brant Fuchigami, Jules Cannon, Kamanu Composite, and Nancy McMahon.
